I've Mastered the Art of Feeding Myself

Pungo Strawberry Festival

The city of Pungo holds an annual strawberry festival each year and we decided to go and see what it was all about. We had a lot of fun and ate some yummy food. Bryan also won Ari a blow-up mallet by trying to hit a 100. They also had a performance by dogs and that was the highlight for Ari.

Zoo Trip

The Zoo was so much fun with Ari yesterday. We have been working on our animal sounds and she actually told us what a cow says correctly. Usually everything says woof woof.

Miami Children's Museum

Today we went to the Miami Children's Museum. We had a blast. This is the first time Ari was able to actually enjoy something we took her too. I learned that we no longer need the stroller. Ari walked all over the place and had so much fun. I also found out you should always ask if they have a military discount. Three adults and three chidlren got in for $30. One perk of the military. After two hours of fun, Ari crashed on the ground. Enjoy the pictures.

Memphis' Diet

Ft. Lauderdale

Ari and I are on vacation while daddy slaves away in class. Thanks daddy for working hard so we can play. Cousin T likes Ari much more now that she can play. T calls out Ari, Ari, Ari early in the morning. T is ready to play.
We have been to the swimming pool and to the Beach. Ari actually got into the ocean today because she wanted T. We are having tons of fun. The girls are doing well together. They have their moments when they don't want to share, but for the most part they are good buddies.

1 year old Pictures

I almost forgot to post what everyone wanted to see.

Guess What?

If you guessed we were back in Richmond again you are correct. Seems like we are in Richmond almost every other week. I was officiating again and Bryan and Ari spent the day with Crystal and the kids. Josh had finals. Just this past week Ari decided she like the playground. On Monday we went to the apartment playground and she climbed up the ramp, went down the slide and even got in the swing. Of course we forgot the camera. Well, this past weekend Bryan and Crystal took the kids to a neighborhood festival and they had a playground. Ari climbed up the climbing hill and went down the slide. She also put on a show on the ramp. They had music playing and she would stop half way up and do a little dance for everyone. Bryan said people were just rolling.

They also saw a parrot. You would think that she would be excited to have a parrot so close to her. The problem was there was a puppy near by and that is what she was interested in. She loves her puppies.

Thanks for putting up with all my blogging.

Random Ari Photos

I love the picture of her eyes. She has such big beautiful eyes.

The Things I Find

So Ari has started to put things away. This is really nice when it is time to clean up the toys. She can now help me and she doesn't complain yet. The only problem is she likes to put thing in other places such as the garbage can, the bathtub, and as you can see the printer. I went to change the ink in the printer the other day and this is what I found when I opened the lid up. She had put her slipper in the door and shut it. Silly bug!

Another Richmond Trip

We spent another weekend in Richmond. I hope we are not wearing our welcome out with Bryan's cousin Crystal and her family. I had a volleyball tournament in Richmond so we made a weekend out of it. On Sunday we went to the river and played around. The dogs loved it as you can see. Even our wimpy Memphis loved the water. Thanks Souters.

Sewing Projects

I keep forgetting to post my pictures of the sewing projects I have been working on. I got a sewing machine for my birthday and I have been busy ever since. I am having fun learning. The first thing I made was bumpers for our wagon. It was pretty easy and fun. I loved shopping for fabric. This fabric made me think of a candy store for some reason. Ari loves taking this wagon to Home Depot. Every one comments on how fun it looks. We live really close to Home Depot so we walk over and load it up with projects for daddy to work on.

I have also made two dresses and some aprons. I will post pictures once I take them.

Iwo Jima Memorial

Our last site for the day was the Iwo Jima Memorial. It really made me think about what the men went through during WWII. I am thankful for the men and women that continue to fight for our freedom. There is a myth that there is an extra hand representing God's hand. We couldn't find a 13th hand. Ari loved climbing all over the stairs.

Arlington National Cemetery

After Mount Vernon we headed over to Arlington National Cemetery. What an amazing place to tour. We were able to see the graves of several Five Star Generals. They no longer appoint Five Star Generals. Many of the men and women buried served in more than one war. We were also able to witness the change of guard. This ceremony is pretty impressive. The Sentinels of the Tomb of the Unknowns. The Tomb of the Unknowns (also known as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) is guarded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in any weather by Tomb Guard sentinels. There are three reliefs, each having one relief commander and about six sentinels. The three reliefs are divided by height so that those in each guard change ceremony look similar. The sentinels rotate walks every hour in the winter and at night, and every half-hour in the day during the summer.

Jackie Kennedy took this idea of the flame burning from the site at Gettysburg. It was fun to find this out because we were just at Gettysburg the day before.
This is the photo from Gettysburg

Ari was so mad that she got put in the babybjourn. She is just too heavy to carry and we couldn't take the stroller because we rode a bus around the grounds.

Taken at the Memorial Amphitheater.

Cute man played the harmonica for Ari.

Ari loved spending time with her Auntie Mitzie and her Uncle Dennis. They spoiled all of us.

Having fun with daddy.

Gettysburg

Time to play catch up. A couple weekends ago we had the honor of meeting my Aunt and Uncle Yamashita and my cousin Heidi and her husband Nate for a weekend in DC. On Saturday we drove to Gettysburg PA for tour the Battle field of Gettysburg. It was an amazing experience. My Uncle Dennis hired a tour guide that took us to some important areas in the victory of Gettysburg. The surroundings were gorgeous. After the tour we were able to go visit the museum and also see the cyclorama. The cyclorama was only painted days after the battle. The artist did an amazing job of depicting the scene.

Mount Vernon

On day number two we started out by visiting Mount Vernon, General Washington's home. The grounds were beautiful and spacious. Washington owned a ton of land. He was also very kind to his slaves from what we could tell. The only complaint we have about the tour was that they rushed us through his house in the first room. I couldn't tell you what was in the room besides a dining room table.
